One of the strangest moments in my undergraduate education came during the first
few weeks of freshman year. By that time school was in full swing, essays were
being assigned and grades were being handed out. It felt like "university". Jonathan
screwed it all up. His essay on Waiting for Godot was so remarkably bad we had
public readings of it and most of the "pop quotes" of the time came from it.

One of my favorite techniques for getting into the head of my characters is, interviewing them. This relies heavily on rapid writing, so be sure you fully understand that concept first. If you don't, you can read my article "Rapid Writing" on my den. Interviewing characters is exactly how it sounds. You sit down with your characters and interview them, just like you would if you were a reporter.

Many writers struggle with the decision of whether or not to write "for free" - however - unless you are a wealthy, professionally published author - I believe there are many advantages to writing articles and offering them for free publication online.

There are some Professional Writers who are starving and cannot make living and they blame this on the increasing numbers of amateur authors out there writing articles. And then they claim that the online article submission sites are worthless. Yet if these are a bunch of amateurs and the submission sites are worthless then why are the professional writers so flustered? Well you should see what one lady wrote about the whole thing.
